Description

After starting a new game as Hunter, while the game is on the loading screen, it is possible to navigate to and enter the pipe to LF_A05. If done properly, the cutscene will happen without Hunter being visible. The camera will be stuck in the cutscene’s place, however Hunter’s actual position will be deep inside of the right wall in LF_A05. Navigating to any pipe that goes out of the room will fix the camera.

Notes

  • This works because Hunter is already created during the loading screen. The default start position is in the leftmost screen of LF_H01, above the pipe. They’re only moved to the right screen when the fade-in starts.

  • This cannot be done as any MSC Slugcat, since they all lock the player’s control from the moment of being spawned until their cutscene ends. This cannot be done as Monk or Survivor because the pipes are locked during their cutscenes.

  • This appears to be exclusive to 1.9+, without being possible to do in 1.5. However, this doesn’t depend on whether MSC, Remix, or Watcher are enabled or not.

  • On the first Hunter launch of the game session, the game may spend an extra second loading before spawning in Hunter. This decreases the necessary window of timing, so it’s easier to do this on the second and onward creation of the save.

  • If the pipe is entered too late, so that the cutscene starts while Hunter is still going through it, the game hardlocks on the loading screen.

  • If Jolly Co-Op is enabled, the necessary timing to avoid a hardlock is for the cutscene to start while still inside of the pipe
