Description
If 25 consecutive cycles (5 as Hunter) have passed without the player hibernating with another slugpup, a pup will spawn in the next realized shelter and the counter will reset. This pup does not have the same spawning limitations as regular pups, and can spawn in banned regions such as Five Pebbles. If the player hibernates with a pup at any point, the counter will be set to 0, and will continue to be reset upon every hibernation.
By exploiting the bonus pup mechanic, it is possible to obtain three pups in one cycle by collecting two naturally spawned pups from two different regions, then spawning a bonus pup in a nearby shelter. It is easier on Low Quality, since it reduces the risk of realizing shelters accidentally.
